Sony Announces PSN Play Program

PSN Play Program, or PPP, is a new service that will be offered to all PSN users, not just Plus subscribers. PPP will feature four new PSN titles with the ability to pre-order each them, which will net you certain bonuses depending on the game pre-ordered. This service is likely Sony’s answer to Summer of Arcade.

As of August 9th all users could begin pre-ordering one of the four main titles in the program, which are listed in order of release: Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition, The Baconing, BloodRayne: Betrayal, and Renegade Ops. Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition will be released August 23 and the Pre-order cut-off date is August 18, for a price of $15. pre-odering this will get you a bonus, downloadable unlock for the boss character Gill.

For those who purchase all four of these games before September 19 they will also receive Payday: The Heist, for free when it launches on September 20.  Below is the breakdown of the remaining three titles and their bonuses.

The Baconing
August 30 in North America, August 31 in Europe
Preorder cutoff: August 25
Price: $15 in North America, €13 in Europe
Bonus: New cooperative mode character Roesha

BloodRayne: Betrayal
September 6 in North America, September 7 in Europe
Preorder cutoff: September 1
Price: $15 in North America, €13 in Europe
Bonus: BloodRayne-themed item for PlayStation Home and an exclusive dynamic theme

Renegade Ops
September 13 in North America, September 14 in Europe
Preorder cutoff: September 8
Price: $15 in North America, €13 in Europe
Bonus: A downloadable content pack with two new vehicles and extra weapons

PS+ Subscribers have not been left out of this program either as they are eligible for 20% off each title which will make getting Payday, for free, that much easier on the wallet.
