Despite Project Rainfall attempting to get Xenoblade localized for the North American market, to no avail, it is being pushed to an earlier release elsewhere. Originally planned for a September 3rd release date in Europe, Xenoblade: Chronicles will be released nearly a months time earlier on August 19th. Sadly, it was the hype behind Project Rainfall that spurred this decision, not necessarily because it was ready in time.
Xenoblade, The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower have all become quite the hot topic on the Internet as they have all been localized for Europe which is an English speaking nation, albeit British English, and yet no word has been announced as to a release of these epic, RPG, Wii titles coming to the West.
Though there are certainly many factors to consider when localizing a European title for the North American market and thus one should not consider it simply a method of copy and pasting the code into an NTSC box and shipping. That said, I find it quite arrogant for Nintendo of Europe to release this highly anticipated game early just to ride the waves of many North American’s discontent.
