Like Best Buy, Amazon is selling three games for the price of 2 in an effort to not be outdone by the retailer and secure its position as one of the top online retailers. What their promotion applies to is a tad more restrictive however, with more than 700 games on the list though, you’d have to be pretty damn picky to not see something you want.
Amazon has a roster of 717 qualifying titles from the PS3, XBox 360, Wii, DS, 3DS, PSP, PC, and Mac games that they sell. It’s not as good as Best Buy’s “Any three games” sale, but they’re picking out all the good ones, such as Ocarina of Time, Oblivion, The Orange Box, and several other titles. Amazon already has some very nice prices on things and this just sweetens the deal.
The full terms are that it only applies to official products, one per customer, and does not apply to any orders placed with 1-Click, just so you’re aware. Everything after that is the usual. The lowest-priced item is what is discounted.
The official sales page is right here on Amazon’s site along with an unordered list of the games themselves. Amazon is actually my retailer of choice for games because they’re prompt and have exactly what I want when I want it unlike the shoddy selection at my local stores.
If you can save better at Amazon, then the decision is a no-brainer. Otherwise, remember that Best Buy still has their own sale going on. Shop wisely so you have cash for the next sale that shows up.
