A new installment of the controversial violent racing game Carmageddon is in the works. A game notorious for its violence against pedestrians, and also being rather non-linear in how you could complete each stage. Doing the race properly, killing all civilians or wrecking the other competitors are all ways to win. A very fun and, as you can see from the image, violent game due to the copious amounts of kill-able pedestrians.
The original was released 15 years ago, and it was violent then and it’s violent now. The official page for the upcoming Carmageddon Reincarnation calls out to the fans of the game, asking what content they would like to see in the upcoming sequel, what the best environments were, and what platforms they play. They have a blog up where they’ll be detailing what they’re going to do.
Even after 15 years, the original team behind Carmageddon is back, and they will likely be the ones behind one of the most controversial games created when Reincarnation is released. This is truly excellent news, I absolutely loved Carmageddon as a kid. I estimate I was 8 or 9 when I played it. The beast has crawled from its depths after being forgotten, and I had a huge nostalgia attack finding a video to grab a screenshot from.
Here’s a video of the original Carmageddon so you can see for yourself if you were one of the ones that didn’t play it. Just so you know, it has a lot of extreme graphic violence, so you might want to avoid it if you don’t like gore.

Anyone else play this classic?
