During the Sony E3 press conference, Sony has just announced the official name for what the industry has been naming “Sony NGP” and the name they have chosen was “Playstation Vita.” Their marketing strategy for the handheld is to have a console like experience in your hand and, as the screen shot above shows, “Uncharted” looks great on it. We are still worried about battery life but we can’t say much on it until it is actually released.
The Vita also has an exclusive partnership with AT&T to provide 3G for all user and access the thousands of hotspots across a America. If you have used AT&T then you would know how hard it can be to get connection in high population areas, so that may make this a bad deal. Finally, Sony PR let slip before the end of the press conference that the PS Vita will be priced at an extremely competitive $250 for the basic version and $299 for the 3G compatible version, putting it within the same price range as the less powerful 3DS. While Sony more or less conceded the handheld market to Nintendo last generation, they are definitely pulling out all the stops to end Nintendo’s handheld monopoly, and the aggressive pricing of the Vita is a welcome surprise that will definitely have Nintendo rethinking their 3DS pricing and strategy.

Respectfully priced if I may say so, I may actually get one if the games are any good

Definitely depend on how it feels when you use it.
