The future of COD is amongst us, we may all be aware of Modern Warfare 3, but Activision is not only stopping there this year. A rumored pay to play model being adopted by the world of COD has been up in the air for a while, this trailer is here to explain that in an entertaining way. Before everyone freaks out, this is a pretty cool service for the hardcore community that makes up the biggest game on the planet right now. When you purchase Modern Warfare 3 this fall there will not be a premium online fee, you can play the disc and love all of its features forever, same with Black Ops. However, Call of Duty Elite offers a premium service to who ever chooses to be a part of it, and trust me there is quite a bit to sink some money into if COD is your game.
The attached trailer is the best way to keep you entertained and informed, and after reading about this all morning, I would say this does the best job of informing the masses. This looks like a great advancement for the world of game communities, but is it a little to late, and too much ($). For instance Bungie.net has been providing these types of services to the Halo community for free since Halo 2, COD Elite is still a great idea, but do there fans think so. Enjoy the trailer, it should help to breakdown all of the details.
