Considering the reboot of Twisted Metal was initially going to be a PSN download, its nice to see that David Jaffe and Eat Sleep Play were able to give Sweetooth the full blown reboot he deserves. Its been confirmed that Twisted Metal for the PS3 wil launch this October 4th/2011 as an exclusive for the Playstation. Its hard to say how well the reception for Twisted Metal will be after a long absence, the industry has changed so much since car combat was a staple in our gaming lives. This game will no doubt be releasing during a very intense holiday season, but maybe something old but something new is what we all need.
David Jaffe has gone on record stating that this title from the get go was focused on fun, clean, and polished gameplay with visuals not overpowering the experience. At heart Twisted Metal is an FPS behind the wheel of a badass car, so maybe gameplay is all we need. After all I have to trust the man that has provided the gaming world with God of War and of course Twisted Metal.
So remember to show some old school car shooting love this fall when Twisted Metal launches October 4th/2011 exclusively for the PS3.
