Mortal Kombat’s First DLC Will Include Two Exclusive Characters

Mortal Kombat’s First DLC Will Include Two Exclusive Characters

Chris Hernandez 04 Apr

We don’t even know the whole line-up of characters yet for the official release and two DLC characters have already been announced. Kenshi, first introduced in MK: Deadly Alliance, and Scarlet who is a brand new character to the series. Kenshi will have upgraded abilities and fatalities not just new graphics much like some of the other characters in the game.

MK‘s producer, Hans Lo, had this to say about Scarlet’s introduction: “Anyone who knows the history of Mortal Kombat will tell you that back in the days of the arcade – when they did just palette swap characters to come up with multiple fighters in the game – there was a glitch in one of the old arcade machines that caused the Jade/Katana/Milena female ninja to glitch and turn red. People always thought it was a hidden unlockable character and it wasn’t, it was purely a programming glitch. They’ve always speculated and in fact it was the fans who named her Scarlet to begin with. She’s no longer a glitch – she’s an actual character, and she’ll be coming pretty soon post-launch.”

Anyone who has played Deadly Alliance will know Kenshi as a born fighter who once was tricked by Shang Tsung into using a powerful sword which leaves him blind. He has telekinetic and psychic abilities while also living up to his names’ meaning”–“Sword Saint”

Mortal Kombat will be released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 on April 19.
