The new version of Battlefield 3 will have a certain limitation for console gamers on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. The publisher DICE, announced recently that gamers on the consoles will have smaller maps in the game. It was initially speculated that something of this manner would happen due to the high graphic demands of the game. However, it didn’t seem plausible as both the consoles were well capable of handling the required graphics.
The game is said to have an extensive storyline with myriad missions. Players of the previous games in the franchisee have commented that it took much longer to complete it than it did to complete other similar games. Battlefield 3 is in the same league as the Call of Duty series and has a similar gameplay experience. This first person shooter gets players right in the middle of the battlefield, as it is aptly titled, and pitches them against a variety of enemy characters. Usually, it is an entire team that is on the user’s side, but only one character at a time may be controlled.
On the Xbox 360, with the Xbox Live service, players can connect to other players all over the world for multiplayer games. This is one of the key features of the game and it is thought that one of the reasons for reducing map sizes in Battlefield 3 is to facilitate easier multiplayer gaming across the globe. On the other hand, the PlayStation+ (PS+) service of Sony which is in competition with the Xbox Live service is yet to facilitate all games. Hopefully, even PlayStation 3 users can soon connect globally to enjoy this high graphics, high intensity first person shooter.
