Tuesday, December 7th is the official US launch of the sequel to the much-played Alien Breed: Impact. Assault developers hope that they have improved on what worked in the original and have also implemented some new features. Check after the break for video and more details of this top-down, sci-fi shooter.
Alien Breed 2 is much like many survival/horror games in the way that you must conserve and manage ammo frequently and the dark atmosphere certainly adds to that. Team 17 has added a new Survival mode to the sequel, which is all the rage this generation.
This can be played in single-player or in two-player co-op (online or local), and you must resist endless waves of intense alien horde attacks in specifically designed arena environments. New vertical areas have been introduced as well to give greater depth to the gameplay as as well mounted machine guns.
The other additions are less pronounced such as new guns, new enemies and a Platinum level trophy for all those trophy hunters. Theodore Conrad and Co-Op gameplay will be making a return. The best part of Alien Breed 2 may very well by the price, it’s only $9.99, so look for it on the Playstation Store tomorrow.
The finale of the trilogy, Alien Breed 3: Descent, will be hitting the digital storefront early next year.
