Entering its fourth year in market, Playstation 3 developers have finally became familiar with its complex architecture and stopped whining about how difficult it is to develop games that can take full advantage of its hardware.
However, not all the developers are satisfied with the power that the console delivers and who better to complain then the creator of Gran Turismo 5 (or as I like to call it the game that will never be released).
Kaz Yamauchi, believe that every Playstation offered “restricted” capabilities and that the Playstation 3 is no different in that regard from its predecessors.
“Software has to be created under the restriction of the hardware,” he said in the latest issue of Esquire UK. “With each new PlayStation, the vessel has become bigger, but it’s still not enough.”
“With Gran Turismo 5 we’ve made it as clean and beautiful as possible within the confines of the space we’re given – but of course there’s a lot more that we want to put in.”
Gran Turismo 5 has already been sent to mass production factories) and is expected to launch before Christmas. Although, many reports suggest it will not be launching until just after the holidays.
I think Kaz is like Tim Allen on Home Improvement always needs more power on everything. What do you think?
