Just in case you have been living under a rock for the past six months, today marks the release of the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise. Black Ops has been extremely well received across the board in almost all major gaming communities, and those of us playing here at IGX are having an absolute blast so far. Treyarch seems to have found a perfect blend from previous COD installments and still stamping the game with their own flavor and personality.
I imagine you were aware that Black Ops released today, so I am not here to remind you of that. Instead I would like to tease the future of Call of Duty, still in rumor form at this point it seems that Activision has registered a variety of website domain names that could potentially become the next installment of COD. Some of these domains go as follows:
“Future Warfare”
“Advanced Warfare”
“Space Warfare”
“Secret Warfare”
Their is clearly a trend amongst these titles, but one can only get excited. We are aware that COD is going to continue to be released annually through either Infintity Ward, Sledge Hammer, or Treyarch but now the question is how will the franchise progress. Future Combat as amongst in both real world combat and video game combat so maybe this is the most natural progression.
This may be a stunt just to promote the brand, but either way we know these games will have a future of some sort. So soak this in as food for thought and I’ll be sure to keep you posted as this info progresses. E3 is starting to look interesting already!

Call of duty black ops for the Xbox 360 was a very enjoyable game. The game was original and entertaining. I gotta say that this game take a big step in the call of duty series. Multiplayer is a lot of fun, im glad that they added the concept to be able to purchase your own guns and not have to wait many levels just to get the gun you wanted. If you didn’t think the game was as awesome as it already is they added theater, so that your able to record gameplay of your gaming skills and be able to show off with your friends, this is a good thing they added although it does NOT record zombie mode and combat training. Combat training is a game that your able to set up yourself to play against the AI in the game, this is a good concept so that call of duty fans who dont have xbox live can be able to play something else other then the main story line, zombies, or spec ops. over all i think that this is a must buy to all call of duty fans.
