Many of you may have noticed something different while browsing the marketplace today; DOOM. Specifically, the game is not available for download on the service anymore. This is odd, as it’s been a strong seller on the marketplace.
While no explanation was given, it’s been speculated that it has to do with Bethesda Softworks’ parent company Zenimax’s acquisition of id Software. DOOM was published by Activision on XBLA, and the business relationship between id and Activision is obviously finished.
In an unrelated move, the game Double D Dodgeball, developed by Yuke’s was also pulled from XBLA.
