I am not much of a sports fan when it comes to the real world or video games (hockey is an exception), but every now and then an icon like Michael Jordan cannot be passed up. MJ was the face of modern basketball growing up, seeing number 23 on a Red Bulls jersey was a staple of growing up in the nineties.
This year NBA 2K11 is introducing Michael Jordan back into the world of basketball and more importantly, video games. Judging by the trailer this already seems like a great idea. Being able to play through past, present, and future MJ is something that die hard basketball fans have probably been waiting for, for a long time. In a digital way, he is kind of coming out of retirement. Not to mention with the advancements that 2K has made with their gameplay engine over the years, this looks like it could be raising the bar for coolness and creativity in a game. So take a second and check out the trailer below to get an idea of what Im talking about. Even if you don’t enjoy basketball games just remember…Space Jam (maybe a Monstars Mode?)!
