Play.com is a popular UK online retailer for electronics and on the recently viewed section of their site there is a little surprise. The 3DS is listed in two colours, both black and blue, and also has a price of £199.99 which equates to around $300USD. Now whether this is going to be the actual price or just simply a placeholder, it certainly does give a better insight into the possible price. I do think that is probably very close to what the actual price will be considering this is quite a powerful piece of hardware considering it does glasses-free 3D and have a graphics engine to rival the PSP and iPhone. At the very least I would pinpoint the price to be around $250, likely more.
Now, this may be a remaining bit of my childish, Nintendo fanboism, but I will buy this system no matter the price, hopefully launch day if I can afford to. Though with no release date available I would assume spring of next year will be more than enough time to save up. What do you guys think, worth $300 or are you going to wait for the eventual price drop?
