The Mafia 2 demo was just put up on the Xbox live marketplace. I feel like if I hadn’t played the demo, this game would have slipped right under my radar and I would have missed out on a magnificent game. If you just watch a few trailers it’s easy to think this is just Grand Theft Auto placed in the 50’s but it’s not. The easiest way to give you an idea is take the open world concept of games like crackdown and GTA but mix in the gun play and combat of Uncharted 2. My first dip into the demo I was thinking oh just another open world game with mediocre gameplay but it proved me wrong. I was very impressed by the over-all look of the game, the controls, and the feel of it. With the release date just around the corner this is definitely going to be a sweet birthday present for myself.
