Well the title pretty much sums up what going on here, it is rumoured that Gearbox Software has acquired “Duke Nukem Forever” the long awaited continuation in the Duke Nukem franchise. Keep in mind this title has been in production with 3d Realms since 1997, earlier this year Take Two (publisher) shut down the project due to contract breach after the game had not released on time.
Any fan of Duke could really care less when the game comes out at this point, it is however great to see that the game is alive and well in rumour form. This would have been a tragic loss to many of our childhood fps gaming memories. Who better to end up with the game any way, Gearbox reinvented themselves with the release of Borderlands last year and look to be a natural fit to carry on the legacy of such a charismatic and sarcastically funny hero.
This rumor better be true, because right now it seems too good to be true, and I can’t help but think where is Borderworlds or Borderlands 2 now, Gearbox seems to have their work cut out for them. Be sure to check back for a follow up on this rumor, as real details are sure to be around the corner.
